When asparagus is in season, this is on my grill. It’s a hit with absolutely everyone and it’s so easy to cook, it’ll for sure be a regular on your barbecue nights too.

  • Total Time: 12 minutes
  • Yield: 4 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1 bunch asparagus

1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

1 tsp salt

Instructions

Preheat your smoker or grill to 400°F

Wash asparagus and snap the woody end of the asparagus off at the point where each spear naturally breaks.

Place the bunch of asparagus in a shallow tray. Drizzle olive oil on top, season with salt, and use your hands to coat the asparagus in oil.

Place prepared asparagus on preheated grill, laying them perpendicular to the grill bars.

Close the grill lid and cook for 6 – 10 minutes until the asparagus has softened to your liking. Serve warm or cold.

Notes

I tend to grill this on my pellet smoker alongside whatever meat I’ve got going. But, this grilled asparagus recipe can be cooked on absolutely any smoker or grill. You can even use your indoor stovetop, it just won’t have that added slightly smokey flavor.
